Turtle Fossils
Here you will find Turtle & Tortoise fossils from many geological periods.  Turtles are a very successful group of reptiles and survived the end of the Cretaceous mass extinction that caused the dinosaurs to become extinct.  Turtles first appeared in the late Triassic, the earliest known found to be around 215 Million years ago.  Sadly many of today's species are becoming close to extinction.  Above Artwork by Nobu Tamura.
