Delivery and Returns

Delivery and Returns Shipping and delivery is simple and straightforward. For UK customers, postage is Free. If you wish to have Signed For delivery (formerly called Recorded Delivery), you may add this at checkout. This allows for tracking so you can see if your parcel is in transit or at the local sorting office. Tip: Sometimes a card is left at your home address, so you will need ID when collecting. Checking with a neighbour can also often save you a trip to the sorting office!      International Shipping We offer Flat Rate pricing. You pay just one price, regardless of how many items are in your order.

For larger orders we sometimes use Courier services such as FedEx, DHL, Parcelforce etc.

  • but you can add "UK Only Signed For 1-3 Working days Tracked/Signed" at the checkout for £1.55
  • Royal Mail (Signed/Tracked) For USA, Canada, S America Etc. Flat Rate £11.50 per order
  • Royal Mail European Delivery (Signed/Tracked) Flat Rate £8.95 per order       PLEASE NOTE - WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT SHIPPING TO REPUBLIC OF IRELAND - This is because of Customs disputes between Ireland Post and Royal Mail)
  • Royal Mail (Tracked) Delivery for Australia, N. Zealand, China, Japan. Flat Rate £11.50 per order

International orders may be subject to import duties, taxes, and handling fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient.   Customs, Duties, and Taxes: Fossilsforsale.co.uk is not responsible for any customs and taxes applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer (tariffs, taxes, etc.). Please contact your local customs office for further information if you are unsure about potential charges

Returns

Returns & Cancellations We want you to be delighted with your fossil. However, if you change your mind, our returns process is straightforward and fully compliant with UK consumer laws. Your Right to Cancel Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your items.

​To start a return: Please email us directly within 14 days of delivery to notify us of your intent to return the item.

Returning the item: Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to post the item back to us.
Condition of Returns: Because fossils are unique and often fragile, items must be returned in their original condition (not altered by preparation or removal from original matrix) and in the same protective packaging they arrived in. Please ensure the item is securely packed to prevent damage during transit.

Return Postage & Refunds
Postage Costs: Unless the item is faulty or was described incorrectly, the buyer is responsible for the cost of return postage. We strongly recommend using a tracked or "signed for" service, as we cannot issue a refund for items lost or damaged in the post.
Processing Your Refund: Once we receive the item back and confirm its condition, we will issue a full refund (including the original basic outbound delivery cost) to your original payment method within 14 days. Damaged or Faulty Items In the unlikely event that your fossil arrives damaged, please take photos of the packaging and the item immediately and contact us. We will arrange for a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you.

Many websites charge restocking fees - we don't - so you will get back exactly what you spent out in the first place.

We try to use as much recycled packaging as possible, including boxes, bubble wrap and filling.   This helps to bring down the costs of our products and for you to save money too.   And paramount, it helps the environment too!
