Boxed and Labelled Western Sahara Lycopod Cones These Lycopod "pine-cones" are rare and found in Boujdour, in the Western Sahara Desert, Morocco, North Africa. Their age has recently been tentatively confirmed as being from the Eocene. But many researchers do not agree and say they are older and from the Cretaceous deposits. So until a definitive date is on them I will go with Eocene as that seems to be the opinion of the majority of experts.
