Matrix free Dactylioceras commune sp. Ammonite fossil. Found at Sandsend, near Whitby. Age is around 178 Million years old. Found and Prepared in August 2018. It is coated with a special fossil varnish to preserve the natural lustre, and keep them free from dust and dirt, from handling. These are the classic British Ammonite, along with the Promicroceras planicosta from Lyme Regis. Everyone should have at least one in their collection!
