Fossilised Tusk bark sections (outer layer of the tusk) from a Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) Its dated to around 30,000 years old (Devensian stage) and found in the permafrost of Siberia.
We also have secured a good supply of Siberian Mammoth tusk sections from the Permafrost deposits. This material is hard and ideal for carving and knife handles. It is normally more expensive than the north sea type because less of it is found due to an extremely short season of opportunity for collecting and lack of access for a most months of the year.
