Pyrite Ammonites
All these Pyrite ammonites have been preserved by light varnish and giftboxed. They were found at StoneBarrow, Charmouth, in Dorset. Horizon is from the Lower Lias, Raricostatum zone. They are all Jurassic Age, about 200 Million years.
Hope you like the pictures! You might wonder why some ammonites do not have a centre to them. Well that is because they were normally very thin and the slightest bit of damage to them during fossilization or if they were squashed made the middle crack and crumble. Fortunately most here have their centres, but I actually like the ones with the holes in them as they are natural looking and shows the ammonites vulnerability through time. The pictures are almost lifesize so you don't need to keep clicking on them for larger views.
