Triceratops Frill Bone sections (Skull bone) Here is some nice sections of Frill bone (which was a the large ornamental bony skull that the triceratops possessed). This was more than merely a decorative Elvis like Collar and would have been a great protection to this animals' head area, along with its triple horns too which no doubt it used very often! There is a good selection here, of sizes and prices too. This comes form the Hell Creek Formation of Montana, USA. It is dated to 66 Million years old (Late Cretaceous) and was found near a triceratops site where many fragmentary animals were found. These are from an old private collection. |
